The Illusory Nature of Appearance

He elucidated that while the self appears empty like space, it is not nothingness but pure consciousness. Its apparent division into many is unreal, akin to the imaginary appearance of ornaments made of gold. The self is neither void nor non-existent but the very substance that makes the world appearance possible.

The Self as the Essence of All

The minister expounded on the self as the infinite consciousness in which the entire cosmos arises spontaneously. Though seemingly inert or insentient, the self is the doer and the non-doer, the reality in all phenomena, including fire and light, yet transcending them.

He pointed out the illusion of duality and non-duality, emphasizing that both are mere assumptions created by Maya, the cosmic illusion. The self alone exists, appearing as both momentary and eternal, near and far, and the assumption of division creates the diversity observed in the universe.

Finally, the minister concluded that the world is neither real nor unreal but a long-standing illusion. The assumption of division leads to the diversity observed in creation, but in reality, all is one consciousness. Only when the assumption of reality is discarded can the true nature of consciousness be realized.
