Day 202 - Conversation of Vasishta and Bhusunda

Reception of Vasishta by Bhusunda

Vasishta's Arrival: I descended before the aged crow Bhusunda with my radiant, ethereal body, much like a meteor descending onto a mountaintop. My sudden appearance startled the gathered assembly, causing a tremor among them, similar to a gentle breeze shaking the lotuses in a lake.

Calm of Bhusunda: However, Bhusunda, who possessed the foresight of past, present, and future, remained unperturbed by my arrival. Recognizing me as Vasishta, he rose from his leafy seat and greeted me warmly.

Welcome and Hospitality: Bhusunda welcomed me with sweet, honeyed words and offered me flowers, which he scattered over me like dewdrops. He then offered me a seat made from a newly cut bark of the Kalpa tree, which he had personally prepared.

Respect and Reverence: The other birds rose and resumed their seats once Bhusunda and I were seated. The air was filled with the sweet scent of Kalpa creepers, and the birds gathered around, with Bhusunda seated facing me.

Courteous Inquiry: After offering me honey and water as refreshment, Bhusunda, feeling honored and cheerful, asked me about the reason for my visit. He expressed gratitude for my visit and sought to know what brought me to his humble abode.

Vasishta's Inquiry to Bhusunda

Acknowledgment of Bhusunda's Insight: Bhusunda's wisdom and insight into the three times impressed me. He asked about the purpose of my visit, noting that my presence brought joy and revitalization to his home.

Vasishta's Curiosity: I acknowledged Bhusunda's keen perception and inquired about his lineage, his knowledge, and the length of his life. I asked him to share his story, from his origin to his current state of existence.

Bhusunda's Story: Bhusunda agreed to share his story, emphasizing the importance of attentive listening. He began to recount his experiences, assuring that his narration would be enlightening and beneficial.
