The Genesis of Creation: Brahma's Cosmic Mind
Day 108
The Genesis of Creation: Brahma's Cosmic Mind
In ancient days, Brahma, the creator, imparted to me, Rama, the profound knowledge of creation's genesis. From the undifferentiated state of absolute Brahman emerges the cosmic mind, which harbors the intention for the existence of various elements in their subtle forms. This luminous cosmic person, known as Brahma the creator, is none other than the manifestation of the cosmic mind itself.
The Creative Power of Consciousness
Brahma the creator visualizes within his own mind whatever he desires to perceive, as he embodies the essence of consciousness. It is through his will that the principle of differentiation, known as nescience, arises, leading to the confusion between the self and the non-self. This nescience, orchestrated by the Creator, gives rise to the diverse manifestations of the universe, despite its fundamental unity in infinite consciousness.
Manifestation of Diverse Existence
All objects and entities within the universe emerge from the absolute Brahman, akin to waves emerging from the ocean. Within the uncreated universe, Brahma the cosmic mind perceives itself as the ego, thus transitioning into Brahma the creator. The varied forces in the universe are merely manifestations of the power inherent within the cosmic mind, giving rise to diverse entities known as jivas.
The Cycle of Birth and Evolution
As diverse jivas arise within the infinite consciousness, they become associated with bodies composed of elements, each infused with consciousness through the life-force aperture. Birth as individuals occurs, driven by desires and influenced by the law of cause and effect. The cycle of evolution ensues, propelled by desire as its fundamental cause.
Liberation from World-Appearance
The world-appearance, akin to a dense forest, entangles beings in its grasp. Liberation from this entanglement comes to those who delve deep into investigation and inquiry, cutting through the root of illusion. While some attain this understanding swiftly, others may require prolonged contemplation before achieving liberation from the cycle of existence.
